Fellow Quilters,
Today’s post is short and sweet – just long enough to share my monthly contribution to Quilt Block Mania, and the links to the other designers’ blocks. If you’re popping over from another participating blogger’s site, welcome to Patti’s Patchwork!
So, each month Carolina at Always Expect Moore selects a theme and a color palette and invites quilt pattern designers to create a 12” finished block using the theme and palette. This month, 18 designers were inspired to create a block with a “travel” theme. Here are the links to everyone’s blog posts and their blocks:

Hubby and I like to cruise. We have also been on a few sailing vacations, so I chose sailboats for my block.

On the Water block for July’s Quilt Block Mania – Travel theme
It’s called On the Water, and I used Northcott’s Toscana suede-like texture for my palette. This block incorporates a bit more piecing than most of my blocks, with the inclusion of the larger and smaller sailboat. I love the effect, however, in a quilt layout. Here I’ve used it in a vertical strip quilt. Fun!!

It would also make a great toss cushion. You can download the pattern here.
Have you been sailing? Perhaps you prefer a motorboat. Or another mode of transportation when you travel. Pop me a note in the comments below. I’d love to hear about your favorite way to travel.
Cheers,
Patti
Hi Patti, I always look forward to your newsletter! You manage to pack so much great quilting information and patterns for us! My favorite way to travel is cruising too! I can’t wait to go on our next cruise! I love this theme and specially your block
Thank you. This is wonderful. Thank you for sharing. The last time I was on a sail boat I was in high school. Our family lived on the boat for a week as the captain sailed us around the Jamaican Islands. Some day I would love to take a cruise. Some day I would love to take a train with a sleeping car also. I do love to travel by car. So many stops and things to see in our wonderful country
On your quilt block pattern above, I cannot find the pattern for the middle block in row four. I absolutely love the patterns for all your monthly themes. I am confused because I ran off all the patterns, but this one didn’t come up. Thanks for all that you do.
Hi Jo, yup, I hear ya! From the admin files I was able to link to the missing blog post here: https://www.quilted-diary.com/post/family-trip-to-pineapple-fountain Enjoy!
Thank you so much! I love what you are doing.
