Fellow Quilters,
Another month, or more, has come and gone since my last post.  Susanne (my piecing sidekick) and I spent a good deal of it preparing for Spring Quilt Market in Kansas City.  Creative Director Deborah worked very hard with the mills to get fabric of the newest collections to us so that Susanne and I could create an impressive and effective display for our booth, and have enough quilts to show in our Schoolhouse presentation.  With all of the quilts from Stonehenge Ginko, Stonehenge Woodland, Stonehenge Stars & Stripes, Stonehenge White Christmas, and finally Geisha, Susanne and I whipped up 24 quilted items in 6 weeks.  Hats off to Susanne and Deborah for all of their effort!  Our Schoolhouse session was standing-room-only – a sea of faces from the front of the room, and attendees busily snapped pictures of the quilts.  Jennifer, our Marketing Specialist, spoke briefly about our new e-community website, www.northcottfabriccircle.com,  that she has been building over the past few months. It officially launched a week or so ago, and is the perfect spot for quilters, crafters, quilt shops and pattern designers to share their projects made with Northcott fabrics.  It’s so easy to join – simply log on and set up your profile.  There is even an amazing prize that you are eligible for if you join soon.  I’m already on, and will be posting some projects and patterns shortly.  Web/blogmaster Aaron has even put the Northcott Fabric Circle logo on my blog, to the right.
At Quilt Market, I met with the editors of several quilting magazines and, as a result, have 4 projects booked for 3 upcoming issues –  McCall’s Quilting, The Quilter’s Quilting for Christmas, and Quilt Trends – all due between end June and end July.  No rest for the wicked!  I will post pictures as we get them done.
So what does any of this have to do with Massachusetts?  I am in Massachusetts right now actually.  I am visiting 16 quilt shops in 5 days, and doing my trunk show or presentation at 6 of them.  This afternoon I was at Heartbeat Quilts in Hyannis, out on the Cape.  This is a fabulous shop!!  After quickly breezing through the shop with owner Helen Weinman, I was wishing that I had booked an earlier flight into Boston today.  By the time my trunk show was over, the shop was closing.  I will have to find a reason to return to this area, as I know I could really do some damage to my credit card in Helen’s shop. If you are in Massachusetts, please join me at one of the following shops/guilds:

Jennifer made me promise to take pictures of my visits and post them on my blog, so I shall endeavour to do a couple of posts this week to share the shops with you.

In my last post, I asked you to help me decide which of the Stonehenge Stars & Stripes quilts that I made up was your favorite.  Thank you for posting your comments.  I have tabulated the results, and the winner is…. Chris Hoover’s (#4).  Not far behind was the Celine-Theresa combination (#3).  A copy of the magazine is boing out to Binks, and fabric packs are going out to Patti (with an “i”), Debbie St. Germain and Lori S.  Congrats!  The Stars & Stripes fabric and Oh Canada fabrics are just getting to quilt shops now.  Check out the Where to Buy at www.northcott.com to find a shop who has received their shipment already.
