This week I have been participating in Quiltmaker’s “100 Blocks Volume 13” blog tour.

I enjoyed reading each and every comment, as you told me about your favorite jewels. Some of you mentioned family and friends. Many, many of you said that your favorite piece of jewelry is your wedding ring – truly heart-warming! I will be selecting the winners from Tuesday’s post shortly.
For today’s post, I scanned the issue of Volume 13, selecting blocks that were designed by some of the pattern designers that partner with Northcott. I came up with 6 blocks, and recolored them in Toscana, the fabric collection that Northcott has advertised in the issue. Toscana is a fantastic texture that looks like suede and feels like silk, and comes in 135 delicious shades. I chose a selection of pinks, ranging from pale Pinky Swear to deep Miami Beet. Here are the 6 blocks:

Then I started combining the blocks into different settings. The results were, um, interesting. Even though all of the blocks are 12″ they didn’t want to “play together” very nicely. I made a sampler, making the background dark, and added sashing between the blocks to separate them (like kids!):

It was quite busy! I tried a couple of 2-block combinations with light and

What a hard choice! All those blocks are beautiful and done in my favourite colour – pink! But Dream Catcher is my favourite block and Dream Catcher and Pinwheel Plus on the light ground is my favourite quilt.

Love all of the blocks, and prefer the Dream Catcher and Pinwheel plus on a light background. I think I may be doing this pattern after I have finished the current quilt for my grand-daughter, having made one each over the past couple months for two of my four grand-daughters. That one would be perfect for little Evie as she has just gone into her ‘big girls’ bed, and needs a bigger quilt.
My favorite block is Dream Catcher and Dream Catcher and Pinwheel Plus with the light background is my favorite. It has a 3-D appearance that makes the shapes pop.
The Dream Catcher block and the Dream Catcher and Pinwheel Plus quilt on white must be a hit because they are my favorites too!

I think dreamcatcher is my favourite block bit I really like the Jaded Jewels & Flashlights quilt and would probably add frames in a greenish tone!

Good morning… My favorite stand alone block is the Dreamcatcher, bowever I like the quilt with Pinwheel Plus & Z-Z-Z… in the dark background really sets off the raspberry colored blocks… notice I didn’t call it PINK– I’m just not a pink person 🙂

Tough choice between two of the blocks! I really like Dream Catcher block, but then I also really love Pinwheel Plus (it’s missing from the individual pics but I was able to figure out which it was by looking at the different quilt pictures) I think if I had to choose only one, it would be the Pinwheel Plus.
The quilt I like most is Dream Catcher & Pinwheel Plus quilt with the light background.

Hard decision as they are all great blocks, especially made up in the same fabric line. I like the Dreamcatcher block and the Sampler layout.
Dream Catcher would be my favorite block — and —Dream catcher and Pin wheel plus (light) is a great combination. Love the shaded pink!!

I like the 3 dimensional quality of Dream catcher block as for which quilt I go for the light background with just the 2 block Dream Catcher as one but I do like them all

I like the lighter fabric. All great looking blocks. I just love the color pink. Was thinking about making a pink quilt for my mom. Believe it or not, she used to have a pink and black kitchen. As I was reading the post I couldn’t decide between Flashlights and Jaded Jewels as the blocks I leaned toward most. All of a sudden the Jaded Jewels & Flashlights quilt
came into view! That answers that question!
My favorite block here is the Dreamcatcher, and my favorite quilt the Dreamcatcher + pinwheel plus with white background. This fabric line is beautiful!
My favorite block is Pinwheel Plus by Kate Colleran and I like the quilt that combines it with the ZZZ block in a dark background. The others are also very nice 🙂

Dreamcatcher is my favorite block, and the quilt with Dreamcatcher and Pinwheel Plus on the light background is my favorite of the quilts. The darker backgrounds caught my eye more, but I would rather live with the lighter backgournd–it is so cheery and uplifting!

I like the way all the blocks look in the limited palette. The all-block sampler with the dark sashing is lovely, but the most striking is the Dream Catcher and Pinwheel Plus combo with the white background and sashing–they “float” and the diagonal line is more apparent. The Dream Catcher block is my favorite.

Being the only girl in a family of 3 boys, I always knew that when we moved I would get the pink room. I hated that, but now that I am almost 70, I have decided that pink isn’t that bad and use it quite often to make a quilt pop! That is what I see in this fabric collection and so like Dream Catcher & Pinwheel Plus quilt. Pink makes me think of spring and the warmth of the sun and is just right for this rainy day.
Jaded Jewels and Flashlights make a very modern quilt in the pink fabric collection.

I really liked Dreamcatcher and Pinwheel Plus design, even the colors.
It was an easy pick for me – Dreamcatcher is a dandy pattern. When you paired it with Pinwheel plus you were a genius. I adore those pinks that you chose. My favorite setting is the one on white. Can’t you see it in a little girl’s room? Never mind little, how about any girl’s room?
I really love Dreamcatcher, and my favorite quilt is Dreamcatcher + Pinwheels in light background. Sparkly! Definitely like the sashing to create some resting space, and the triangles seem to float right off. I would love to try the block in purple shades.
